Makeup stains are one of the most common stains we encounter. We receive laundry with makeup stains almost every day. They have different kinds of it such as foundation makeup, mascara and lipstick. And we often find them on ladies clothing.
This blog post is for the ladies. Have you ever experienced getting makeup stains on your clothes? If yes, then you already know how tough it is to get rid in clothing. If not yet, I suggest you don’t wish for it.
But whether you already have tried it or not, the important thing is that I am here to help you solve this problem so you’ll know what you can do to get rid of makeup stains quickly.
How To Get Rid Of Makeup Stains On Clothes Quickly
Liquid foundation can be quickly absorbed by fabric. So it is better to treat or wash it right away. You can flush the liquid foundation using running water. But if you weren’t able to remove the makeup stains completely, using a liquid detergent can do the trick. Work it gently until the stain is gone.
When the liquid foundation got dried because you haven’t noticed it earlier, do not worry. There is still a way.
First is to remove the excess makeup by scraping it off using a spoon or any dull edge. Then get a clean white cloth, dip it in water then gently damp it over the makeup stains area. Then you can wash it normally.
This one is tougher than the foundation makeup so you better be ready for it. Use a stain remover by applying a few drops directly on top of the makeup stains.
Then use a brush in removing the stain. Do not rinse it right away. Let it sit for a few minutes then rinse with hot water.
Wash the clothing right after and launder as normal.
The process of getting rid of lipstick stains is somewhat the same process as with liquid foundation stain. First is to remove the excess stain by flushing it under running water.
Then use a clean white cloth to blot the stain until it has completely disappeared.
If the makeup stains was not removed, use a liquid detergent and apply it in the affected area. Use the clean white towel and damp in the stain area.
Tips and Tricks
- If the makeups you have used are oil-based, using an oil-based stain remover can also be beneficial to you.
- If the makeup is oil-based, use hot water. Otherwise, just use cold water.
- Use hydrogen peroxide instead of stain remover or bleach.
- When drying, use natural sunlight only or air drying and just lay the clothing in a flat surface. Do not dry the clothing that has makeup stain using the drying machine. This is to avoid further damage on your clothes.
