Sometimes, though, you could have some cleaning mishaps involving varnish in your home. One situation would be accidentally putting a wooden coffee table inside your home when the varnish has not dried completely yet.

This can cause varnish stain on your beautiful clothes which is very frustrating.

Here’s the procedure you can follow to remove varnish stain on clothes

Use dry cleaning fluid

The first step which you need to take is to remove as much of the excess varnish on your clothes as possible.

Use a paper towel and then blot the stained area in a couple of minutes to help remove some of the varnishes. Do this until there is no more varnish transferring onto the paper towel.

Next, use a new paper towel but this time, fold it a few times and place it directly in the affected area. Afterwards, apply some dry cleaning fluid on it and then put it over the varnish stain on your clothes.

Get a heavy book or some weights and place it on top of the paper towel and let it sit there for 10 to 15 minutes. The dry cleaning fluid will help in dissolving the stain so that it will be removed from the fabric.

Use enzyme detergent

If the previous step doesn’t eliminate all of the clothes stains, you can remove the varnish stain using a different cleaning solution for the problem.

Try mixing a teaspoon of enzyme detergent with a cup of warm water and pour some of this onto the varnish stain area of the cloth.

Then, use a clean white cloth to blot the area repeatedly until all of the stains are gone.

Repeat this step until you can remove all of the stains on the clothes.

Use dish washing liquid

For the last method, get a basin filled with a bit of clean water and also dish washing liquid then dip the stained portion.

Then dry everything thoroughly using some clean towels. This last step is to make sure that you remove any residue which could stay behind on the clothes fibers.
